Welcome to Region One of the American Daylily Society (ADS), which is comprised of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Canadian province of Manitoba. We are proud to share with you that today's ADS has its origins in a meeting of daylily enthusiasts that took place in Shenandoah, Iowa, on July 13, 1946. Region One is where it all began!

We hope that you will regularly visit our website to further your interest in daylilies (Hemerocallis). Here, you can obtain information about the next Region One meeting as well as local daylily societies and their plant sales. If you are seeking advice concerning how best to grow daylilies in your garden, contact information of local Hemerocallis growers is also provided. We encourage you to join the ADS and enjoy the many benefits of membership.

Pollen Dabbers 2026
Presented by the Central Iowa Daylily Society

Jason Delaney of PHS Daffodils will be our keynote speaker for Friday night.

Michael Grossman and Kathleen Nordstrom will be giving their long programs on Saturday.

Some of you know how prominent Jason is in the daffodil world, but what many do not know is that he has hybridized daylilies as well. He sees one of his roles as a conservator of important lines of daylilies, and has amassed large collections of daylilies by historically prominent hybridizers.

Pollen Dabbers has enjoyed short programs by Michael and Kathleen for years. Their long programs are particularly rich because we are invited to see where they both started, and where they have come: Michael is producing remarkable northern hardy toothed hybrids, and Kathleen's pattern daylilies are groundbreaking.

We plan to have a deep bench of regional hybridizers as well. If you are a hybridizer and want a spot on the program, please email me at pf1371113@gmail.com

We hope you will join and start spring right with weekend of daylily fellowship.
